Finishing the Solo Sonata for violin by Bartók

After I have finished the editing and mastering of the sound files I still had many ideas of doing a some kind of movie of this wonderful music. Made video clips in the nature, flowers, trees, many hours of material. But when I was starting to put down texts I had to realize that I am not a poet. The whole project seemed suddenly unreal and because unfortunately we are so few, perhaps only a “handful” musicians and even less music lovers who really appreciate Bartok’s music, I have lost any sense of developing the original idea.

Now, after one year of the official audio release at iTunes, I’ve decided to finish, well, somehow, the video. We made such interesting and quite good “amateur” videos last spring, that I could not deal with the idea of deleting and forgetting about it.

When I started to make some effects and synching process last year, I was working with Final Cut, but as a trial version, I would have to rent or buy it now… Well, I thought that’s a bit too much just for some fun video editing, so I opened iMovie, and surprise, it was “good enough” for the work I wanted to do. The few effects, editing and synching was pretty strait forward, I finished the whole four movements in 3-4 hours.

It isn’t perfect, again: it is just some fun work to make this great music available as a video, since there are so few around. Please enjoy, at least as much as I did by playing it!
