Carmen by Bizet is not surprisingly well known to music lovers with the wonderful melodies all the way through the opera. Perhaps the most beloved parts (at least to us) are this selection of transcriptions for violin and harp. Five movements from the two suites written also by Bizet: Prélude & Aragonaise, Séguedille, Habanera, Intermezzo, Les Torreadors. Definitely a top runner at any ocasion or concert.
Written by Hungarian violin virtuoso Nandor Szederkenyi, former concertmaster in several major orchestras from Japan to Austria, who also had a long career as soloist.
Published using the leading notation software Finale, he includes bowings and fingerings, in collaboration with his duo partner/daughter who took care of the pedal markings of the harp part.
